I'm Tawfik, an AI Engineer. Which basically means I spend my days convincing computers to be smarter, and my evenings wondering if I'm the one being outsmarted. It's a great career. 🤖

So what do I actually do? 🛠️
Short version: I build things with AI that are supposed to be useful — and occasionally, they are.
Long version: I work across the full stack of making AI actually function in the real world. Wrangling language models, building agents that don't go rogue, designing systems around retrieval and memory, and writing a lot of evals to figure out why something that worked yesterday suddenly doesn't. The glamour is nonstop. ✨
I genuinely love this stuff. Not in a "I put it on my LinkedIn" way — in a "I'm still thinking about this problem at 11pm" way.

Articles are thoughts on AI, engineering, and whatever's been living rent-free in my head. I don't post on a schedule. I post when I have something worth saying that doesn't fit in a README.
